To contribute to the development of the territories where we operate, at home and abroad

Ici et ailleurs, contribuer au développement des territoires où nous opérons

Our responsibility does not stop at the doors of our silos or our factories. VIVESCIA strives to play a major role in favour of the social and economic development of the territories where it operates. We are investing for the progress of agricultural and industrial expertise, for the improvement of our production facilities and for the creation of always more shared value.

Our challenges

  • Investment in civil society
  • Redistribution of economic wealth over our territories

Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA: in the name of solidarity

The charity “Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA” unites the member-farmers of VIVESCIA and the employees of the Group’s companies around the organisation of large-scale collective actions and the support of projects that participate to the development of the territories where we operate.

4 lines of action:

  • To nourish > to support initiatives against hunger and food waste
  • To share > to progress agricultural and rural savoir-faire wherever possible
  • To develop > to participate to programmes for safeguarding or creation of employment
  • To protect > to assist projects aiming at the protection of resources

Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA and Les Restos du Cœur: a long lasting partnership

  • The operation “Gift of Wheat”: When VIVESCIA wheat chain becomes a charity chain. In 2015, VIVESCIA farmers donated 570 tonnes of wheat. This wheat was collected by the Cooperative, then processed into flour and packed by Les Grands Moulins de Paris. This resulted in 400,000 packets of flour donated to “Les Restos du Cœur”, almost half of their annual needs.
  • For the last 2 years, VIVESCIA is the company providing nationally the 2nd largest number of volunteers for the collection of donations for the charity “Les Restos du Cœur” (March 2015 and March 2016).
Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA missions historiques en Afrique

Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA missions in Africa

  • In Senegal and Benin - we support projects aiming at developing the production of vegetables to be sold at the local markets. The challenge: To encourage these farmers to live off their activity and to retain the rural population on its territory.
  • Training in Benin – for the last 4 years we have been providing support to 9 groups of local vegetable producers or 200 people in total. The objective of this training is to improve their production in quantity and quality (seed production, composting, pest and disease control...). Since 2016, we also provide support to a new group of women who want to develop their own vegetable production.
  • Drinking water in Senegal - Through the installation of 3.5km of pipework co-funded by our charity, drinking water is now available in the village of Leona: a better health for all... and more time available for the women!

Skills sponsorship to support local development

VIVESCIA and Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA are partners of the “Réseau Entreprendre® Champagne-Ardenne”.

  • For 30 years, this network has been providing support to budding entrepreneurs. Its principles are in line with the values of the Group: beyond the concept of cooperation, it is the potential of the project leader in becoming in entrepreneur that attracts support.
  • In 2016, VIVESCIA and Le CŒUR de VIVESCIA signed a partnership agreement with the “Réseau Entreprendre® Champagne-Ardenne”. The VIVESCIA farmers and managers are providing skills and support towards the development of projects that create value and employment in our region.
